2012 Safety Shoot

The Safety Shoot was a lot of fun this year, with a 5-stand sporting clays setup. The Wounded Warriors were invited to shoot with us, but none were in attendance. Special thanks to Rick, Joe, Jimmy for coordinating, and organizing the event, and to Mark Miller for helping Rick out with the cooking!Joe had the highest score of the day with a 21, and it was nice to see a few families there too!

Canine Health Notes

Heartworm Medication Recall

If you have your dog on Iverhart Max chewable tablets as a monthly heartworm preventative, please note that a single production lot has been recalled. See the press release for full details, here.

Cactus Spines

If you've ever hunted quail or chukar with your dog, you've probably had your fair share of run-ins with cactus plants! Click here to read an article with some helpful suggestions for removing those painful spines from your dog.

Water Therapy for Your Dog

Earlier this year, Mike Linville's Kaia sustained a shoulder injury, and he has been putting her in physical therapy to help her recover in time for hunting season this Fall. He speaks highly of Tinassy's K9 Splash-R-Cise in Santee, which uses heated pools with water jets to provide no-impact exercise for the dogs. Their services include:

•Pre-operative strength building
•Post-operative recovery
•Geriatric support
•Weight management
•Relief of pain, stiffness, swelling, and arthritis
•And more.
