In Memorium

Our thoughts are with the Gelardi family this week, as they mourn the loss of their GSP, Uker. He was a young dog, in training to be a chukar-hunting dynamo, and the Gelardis had high hopes for him. He became sick quickly, but they are not 100% certain as to the cause. We don't get enough time with them, so give your pals a hug tonight.

News and Notes

Annual Club Picnic

The 2014 picnic went very well. Wonderful food, excellent company, beautiful weather...what a great day! I would like to express my deep appreciation to Ed Marr for doing the lion's share of the work, from planning, to shopping, to food prep, to setup, cooking, serving, and tear-down.  You did an excellent job, and you went above and beyond to make it an enjoyable occasion for all. You rock!!!

 Imperial Valley Success

A buddy and I went out to the Valley recently, and had a good day of shooting eurasian collared doves and pigeons. Final count: euros 72, pigeons 4.

 Dog Training in Spain

This summer, one of my hunting buddies went to Spain with his wife to walk the Camino de Santiago from France, over the Pyrenees, and across Northern Spain to the coast. Along the way, they saw many beautiful landscapes, met many wonderful people, and even discovered areas for dog training and upland game hunting!
